About
I am totally new to this blogging thing, and thought this would be a great place to introduce my baby blog. I am a retired pathologist, and have been out of medicine for 11 years now, spending my time raising my two boys, and taking care of me . I have cystic fibrosis, which--I hate to be dire here, but-- kills half of its victims by age 37. I'm nowhere near dying yet, though. I'm busy. I became a personal trainer and "wellness coach," certified through Wellcoaches Corporation and the American College of Sports Medicine. I started a non-profit organization, New Day Wellness, through which I coach wellness to people with chronic illness. I also write quite a bit for newsletters and speak publicly on living well with chronic disease. I am an avid, but slow runner, lift weights, and have started a CF exercise program at Stanford, along with their CF team. Our motto is, "If you can breathe, you can exercise." Anyway, I have an idea for a book, and I thought that starting a blog would be a kick. My blog is the beginning of my book. My BlogHer Conferences
