looking for mom bloggers for an article in a national parenting magazine........

Hi, all you mom bloggers,

I’m writing an article on limit-setting and why it’s sometimes so hard to say “no” to our kids. I’m collecting anecdotes from moms about times they’ve given into their kids -- even though they knew better (like buying the sugared cereal your kid saw on TV, so you can get the hell out of the grocery store...)  Since you all are already telling your stories to the public, I'm hoping some of you might have some good "cave" moments you might be willing to share. I'm writing this for a national parenting magazine, so if you've got a particularly universal, mortifying, exasperating, hilarious, commonplace anecdote about a time you gave into your child (from crawling into bed with your kid, so they fall asleep, to promising your child a present if they run an errand with you, etc, etc...), I'd love to hear from you. If I wind up using your "pushover" moment, you get your name (and a mention of your blog) in a national parenting publication.

Well, asking if I've ever been a pushover ...

is like asking if the sky is blue. Of course it is, but there are different shades of blue, and sometimes clouds cover the sky, so it's never quite as clear as it seems. I've pretty much done them all: I've let my son, who's 3, watch TV so I could check my e-mail, I bring my 1-year-old into our bed so I can get an extra 5 minutes of sleep. Then there's this classic: I bribe them with dessert so they'll eat their dinner. OK, so I'm not perfect, but I don't think those are things that all moms haven't done at one time, right?

Still looking for mommies?

What mom doesn't do this? :)

I think that every parent has done this once, twice, or probably many more times!  And if they say they haven't I would like to meet and shake their hand.  Hmm, my biggest pushover moment?  Probably would be everytime we walk into a Target store.  For some reason he always gets upset in this store and starts screaming so everyone can hear him.  What do I do?  I go grab a box of crackers or something I can open and let him eat while I am shopping.  Once he has these he is good to go.  He sits in the cart happily eating while I finish my shopping and then pay for everything (including the crackers which he screams until I give them back).  Usually I try to avoid this store or I try to remember to take my own snacks along.  Yes, I have tried to ignore the screams and just get done shopping as fast as possible but Target is a hard store to not shop around in so the crackers come in handy!
