Top Ten List for Hollywood, Post Wall Street Tumble
by Jane Becker

It’s the day after Lehman Brothers has announced bankruptcy, Merrill Lynch has sold itself for pennies on the dollar, the day after AIG teetered on the edge and hundreds of thousands of employees suddenly were left without jobs.

In Los Angeles, Hollywood fretted about the impact of the Crash on future film financing.

So herewith, a Top 10 List of things Hollywood can do to shore itself up:

10.    Have Robert Rubin restructure financing for Hollywood films the way he restructured Wall Street in the 90’s.

9.    Use some of the funds to back a blockbuster film called “The Bridge to Nowhere.

8.    Have Obama vote for it.

7.    Have Palin greenlight it and then put it into turn-around.

6.   Since they’re not using them anymore, use the salaries of the Lehman, Bear and Merrill execs to launch an indie film arm.

5.   Assign some of the funds to finance a new documentary by McCain, “The Fundamentals of a Strong Economy”.

4.  Use the rest of the funds to finance a doc by Robert Rubin, “My Financial Plan for Obama”, a sequel to his film, “How I Restructured Wall Street for Clinton”.

3.  Re-incorporate the film studios as “Frankie Mac” and ask for a loan from the government.

2. Have Frankie Mac sign development deals with Chris Dodd, John Kerry, Harry Reid, Hillary Clinton, Joe Lieberman, Jay Rockefeller and Barbara Mikulski.

1. Have Barbara Streisand host a benefit for Wall Street.
