The Black Weblog Awards - Time to Vote!

Yes folks, it’s that time of year for……..THE BLACK WEBLOG AWARDS!

Project Runway Recap: The Top 13 are starting to become distinguishable characters to me

by Elisa Camahort at 10:16am Thu, 7 Aug 2008 under Entertainment & Books, Reality TV, Project Runway
I'm starting to get the hang of this seasons contestants, and last night's episode went a long way toward solidying them in my mind, how about you? Except for the two who are totally indistinguishable from one another. For example: Joe is this year's straight guy, straight, dammit!! And like many of the other straight guys from other seasons (I'm talking to you Kevin) he has no personal style whatsoever.

Submit Your Questions For Kelly Park Of Lifetime's "How To Look Good Naked"

Do you hate your body?  Do you avoid looking in the mirror for fear of what you'll see?  Well Kelly Park and Carson Kressley of Lifetime Television's "How To Look Good Naked" may be able to help.  And without liposuction, facelifts, butt lifts or tummy tucks. As part of BlogHer's "Letter To My Body" campaign which tries to help women improve their body image, I'm going to have the pleasure of doing a podcast interview with Kelly Park who starred in the premiere of this season's "How To Look Good Naked."

I've Got Emmys On My Mind

It's still a month and a half to the primetime Emmy Awards, and I'm wondering what the nominees might be up to. I'm sure all the actors and actresses are being inundated with offers of clothes and jewelry from every well known and some not so well known designers.   I'll be interested to see what some of my favorite nominees will be wearing:  Glenn Close, Ted Danson and Zeljko Ivanek of "Damages;"  America Ferrera and Vanessa Williams of "Ugly Betty;"  Neil Patrick Harris of "How I Met Your Mother" and Hugh Laurie of "House."

Breaking Dawn Divides Twilight Fans

I said that I wasn't going to buy Stephenie Meyer's Breaking Dawn. I said it right here at BlogHer and when I said it I meant it, I really did...but then I bought it. I attribute my downfall to two things - I ended up going into a bookstore on Saturday (for another unrelated reason) and I realized that I'd never be able to resist and/or avoid the spoilers. Please note that this post will link to both spoilers and spoiler-free posts but they will be clearly marked - no spoilers will appear in this post.

Tales of Beedle the Bard Coming to A Store Near You

You knew this was coming didn't you? You really didn't think that J.K. Rowling would release only a limited edition of Tales ofBeedle the Bard to only a handful of people did you? Of course she wouldn't. Tales of Beedle the Bard will be appearing in stores near you just in time for the winter holiday season. Adding to that holiday giving spirit Rowling has signed over the royalties from the book to The Children's High Level Group charity, which supports institutionalized children.
