I have been hesitant to finally make my move to the Middle East, assuming I might not be given the opportunity to prove myself and boost my career in a region where men “solely” reign.
That was before a relative of mine, living and working in Qatar, recommended reading through
Bayt.com’s recent research about “
Women in the Middle East Workplace”. I was honestly shocked to learn that
out of 1,515 interviewed working women in the Middle East Region, 73% of western working women stated they are treated fairly as compared to their counterparts, in addition to 44% stating they have equal chances of promotion as their male colleagues in similar positions.Furthermore, the Middle East’s Number One Job Site, Bayt.com, states that
76% of women interviewed actually work in companies where senior executive positions are occupied by women.
I am stunned by these figures, to say the least, but I am certainly getting my thoughts and act together and finally applying to some really attractive jobs in the Middle East using Bayt.com’s user friendly job search technologies.

living in Doha
Hey Debra, I just came across your posting and wanted to stress the accuracy of the figures you were provided by Bayt.com. I, myself, have been employed through them in Doha, and would like to assure you that you will be just fine. I am certain that you will enjoy the experience of living in this warm, beautiful, hospitable and safe country. Working conditions for both men are women are great and the economy is widely prospering. If you check the earlier report about job loyalty in the Middle East on Bayt.com itself, you will come to know that 63% of western expats have a high level of loyalty towards their employers, which naturally, is the result of a stable working environment and great level of employee engagement and motivation. Have no worries, you’re going to love it here. Best of luck!
Hi Amanda, So you’ve
Hi Amanda,
So you’ve been employed through Bayt.com? I know a lot of people who have relocated through them to the Middle East and they mostly recommend the job site.
Was the registration process smooth and easy for you? I resent the possibility of getting myself stuck in a complicated process of building a resume online and then getting nothing out of it!
I am considering a move to the Middle East by end of year and I would really use any advice/ recommendation you could give.
hey sammy
Hey Sammy,
I have been in your shoes before, getting stuck in a chaotic complicated process of building online CVs and dumping the whole thing later. I am happy to tell u it will not be the case with Bayt.com!
I was hesitant myself at the beginning, but posting your resume on their site is a piece of cake, to be honest. You will notice they have a user friendly site, and the online CV builder is simple and straightforward. And I do believe they have the largest pool of employers registered with them in the Middle East (around 30,000, I think). So go ahead and have no fear. You will definitely be on the right track with Bayt.com, and in case you need any advice at all, I’m more than happy to help out. Good luck!
amanda,
You did not mention the registration is totally free for job seekers!
I just built my online resume and was expecting to use my credit card somewhere toward the end of the process. . .No, its absolutely free, which I think is quite fair (for job seekers, that is). Not at all sure if I'm ready to relocate yet but many thanks for recommending bayt.com!
Amanda
I just wanted to extend my huge thanks to you for recommending bayt.com. I built my online resume (yes, it was a piece of cake, thank you) only around 10 days ago, and employers have already started contacting me. I wish applying to jobs was that simple for us here.I think I’ll be visiting Qatar towards end of the month and I will definitely keep you posted. Once again, thank you!
